Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Pragya:
Tell us about your background and the journey so far.
My journey in the field of nutrition began in 2020, when I started working as a certified health coach. At the time, my focus was on promoting holistic wellness and lifestyle habits, but I quickly realised the deeper clinical impact nutrition could have—especially in the context of disease management and recovery.
Motivated to deepen my knowledge, I pursued advanced clinical training and moved into more specialised areas such as oncology, diabetes, gut health, and sports nutrition.
This evolution led me to work in some of the UK’s most respected healthcare institutions, including Oxford University Hospitals and Guy’s & St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, where I currently contribute as a Clinical Nutritionist.
Along the way, I launched Etrecoeur Wellness, a platform designed to bridge the gap between evidence-based clinical nutrition and everyday health. Today, my work blends hospital-based care with digital health initiatives, global client consultations, and educational content creation—always rooted in the belief that nutrition is not one-size-fits-all, but a powerful, personalised tool for healing and performance.
How did you discover your passion for ‘Clinical Nutrition’?
Passion, for me, wasn’t a lightning-bolt moment; it was a series of lived experiences. I started noticing how nutrition was either oversimplified into “eat clean” mantras or made inaccessible through medical jargon.
The gap frustrated me. Working closely with patients, I saw how tailored, research-based dietary shifts could drastically improve outcomes physically and emotionally.
That’s when it clicked. My passion lies in translating science into care, whether through Instagram reels, hospital rounds or product formulations.
What keeps you going when things get tough?
Two words: purpose and people. Working in oncology has taught me that healing isn’t linear. On days when clinical pressures or business challenges feel overwhelming, I remind myself of the transformation stories like the woman who managed her PCOS without meds or the elderly patient whose energy came back post-chemo through tailored meals.
That ripple effect is what keeps me going. Also, I deeply believe in the values of Mudita—joy in others’ joy. That fuels my work, even on hard days.
What are the three most important life lessons you’ve learned?
> Resilience is a choice—especially when things don’t go your way.
> Being kind is a strength, not a softness.
> The right people make all the difference. For me, my family—especially my dad, mom, and sister—along with a few extraordinary people I’ve met in recent years, have been my strongest pillars of support. Their unwavering support helped me build this global vision.
In your view, what are the real keys to success?
a) Self-awareness over perfection
b) Consistency over motivation
c) Integrity over popularity
d) And most importantly—taking action before you’re fully ready. That’s how you grow, in any field.
What would be your advice to young professionals entering the health and wellness space?
Start by building credibility. Your degree is just the beginning—what you do with it sets you apart. Whether you’re a clinical dietitian, sports nutritionist, or wellness creator, invest in continuous learning, create content that educates (not just sells), and always be curious.
Also, niche down early. You can’t serve everyone. That clarity helped me build real connections and results.
What makes your journey fulfilling?
For me, fulfilment isn’t just in success stories, it’s in the transformation behind them. When a client messages me saying, “I don’t feel bloated anymore after meals,” or when a reel sparks hundreds of people to rethink their breakfast—it’s magic.
I’m honoured to hold Life Membership with the Nutrition Society of India and IAPEN, recognising my long-term commitment to the field of clinical nutrition. But what truly fills my cup is when people say, “I feel seen, heard, and healthier because of what you shared.” That’s why I do what I do.
